Coup? It's real!

Well, just when I have decided to wine down my crazy lifestyle, I found myself being in the middle of a military coup in Thailand. How lucky is that? My uncle even teased me about my starting the coup ☺ “Oh yeah, you bet. I am starting my revolution in Thailand.”

I was sitting in the living room watching some soap opera last night when Ma Jr. rushed in and told us about the coup in Bankok and the tanks rolling in the city. All the TV programs were suspended and there was a rumor of suspending all the other means of communication (i.e. internet and phone). Sounded surreal to me, especially in Thailand, one of the most democratic and developed countries in this region. No one really knows who is behind the coup but hopefully it will be more transparent once the King addresses to the public (it seems to be the case, as everyone, I meant EVERYONE, in this country loves the King and listens to the King). It is rather quiet and peaceful in Bankok, no one seems to be panic and paranoid. It is the Thai mentality - vamos a ver!

A heck of a summer!

(dated september 1, 2006)

Had my last night in Germany – dinner at Linz, go-karting at the Michael Schumacher track, watching the dvd of Robbie’s concert in UK. Realized that my summer was officially over. Back to the tranquilla BCN and it was time to wind down. It was surely a heck of a summer, in all aspects: beer-drinking, pot-smoking, money-spending, and of course fun-having. I enjoyed every single minute of it. Knew that it would not be the same when we kicked off the summer of the trip to Amsterdam. Amazed by the connection I made with people over the summer. I feel blessed, blessed by all the people around me, we all made a footprint in each other’s life.

“Friendship is like peeing in your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.” Lol, it was so warm that I am shitting my pants ☺
