Peculiar Joya del Modernisme

Stumped upon this UNESCO patrimonial site while staying with my in-laws. We walked through the urbanized new town of Sant Boi, crossed the dried-up river to Santa Coloma de Cervelló and found ourselves in this hidden gem of Gaudí. From the residential buildings to the unfinished church, the Modernisme (Modernismo Catalán or Catalan Art Nouveau) is in full display at the Colonía Güell, designed for Eusebí Güell’s factory workers in the late 1800’s. Not to mention that it just so happened that my in-laws got married here at the Crypt (Cripta de la Colonia Güell) 51 years ago.
