Mating Market - single daughter/son for sale

Strolling around People Square by MOCA and out of sudden, there was this huge crowd of people (at least good 500-600) gathering in the park with posters all over the trees and walls. I wonder what was going on. Turned out that it is a Mating Market. The parents of a single daughter or a son came gathering here to ‘market’ and ‘negotiate’ a blind date for their kids with other parents. Most of them have a poster of a description of their son or daughter ‘ Female, 27, height 160cm, single, nice, with a good job, looking for a male with good professional career…..’ Some of them even have a picture with them.

It made me wonder, is it really that difficult to find love nowadays that people have to go to all these mating places (online or offline) or even have someone else (parents or agents) to arrange it for them? Felt a bit sad that one doesn't even have time to explore a little romance in his/her life and has to relied on some sort of systematic way to find love? Is it really because of lack of time or people have become more defensive/risk averse over time with love? Perhaps we have become so fixated with the idea of ‘perfect match’ and overlook the most precious that is actually right in front of us…
